The Texas AG and Oklahoma AG both going after the Big 12 over this Brendan Sorsby situation at Texas Tech and I just keep thinking about the 1998 Sun Bowl team. Back then Coach Franchione settled things on the field, you lined up and played ball and the best man won. Now we have state attorneys general threatening $200 million in antitrust exposure over a quarterback transfer eligibility dispute. This is what college football has become, lawyers and politicians deciding who plays instead of coaches and players. The Big 12 cannot let outside pressure dictate conference discipline whether it comes from Austin or Oklahoma City. Set a precedent now and every eligibility dispute from here on ends up in court instead of on the field. We used to respect the conference rules because we built this league together. Now everybody wants to lawyer their way out of accountability.
