I remember when a kid committed to Wisconsin because his dad and granddad both played here and he wanted to carry on the family name. Now I see five-star prospects spread across a dozen different programs and it just shows you what college football has become. NIL money is the only thing that matters anymore and loyalty means nothing. Barry Alvarez built this program with walk-ons and 2-star kids from Wisconsin farm towns who would run through a wall for the Badgers. Now we are watching kids jump from school to shool every single year chasing the biggest bag. The portal and NIL killed everything that made this sport special. We used to have rivalries that meant something now we just have free agency. I will take a roster full of kids who actually want to be here over a bunch of mercenaries any day of the week and I do not care what the recruiting rankings say.
