You see Greg Byrne out here talking about maybe getting rid of the SEC Championship game and I have to sit here and think about what we have become. I reemmber sitting in the stands at Legion Field in 1992 watching us beat Florida 28-21 in that first SEC title game and thinking this is what college football is all about. Two heavyweights meeting in December with everything on the line. That game built the modern SEC. Now we are talking about eliminating it because of some playoff format that changes every year. The conference realignment already killed our rivalries with Tennessee and Auburn being less meaningful because we are in different divisions half the time. If we lose the SEC Championship game too then what is even the point of being in this league anymore.
