Watching the NFL Draft and seeing SEC guys go in bunches just makes me think about what we've lost. Back when Coach Saban was at LSU in the early 2000s, you built a program. You recruited high school kids, you developed them for three or four years, and they beacme LSU men. Now every spring it's a carousel. A kid gets a better NIL offer down the road and he's gone before the season starts. You cannot build a defense that way. You cannot build an offensive line that way. The portal has turned college football into free agency and loyalty is dead. Oklahoma State bringing in 50 transfers? Colorado bringing in 43? That is not a program. That is a rental.
