Finebaum and Chizik sitting there talking about Week 13 rivalries and I cannot help but think about what we have lost. Back in the 1980s when we played Georgia Tech on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, that game meant something. You knew every kid on that Tech roster grew up hating us and we grew up hating them. Now we got Oklahoma and Texas on the schedule and I am supposed to get worked up about that? I remember sitting in the stands at Grant Field in 1981 when we beat Tech 24-19 and the whole stadium was shaking. That was a rivalry. That was hate. Not some corporate matchup the TV networks cooked up in a boardroom. The SEC killed the old rivalries when they expanded and I will never forgive them for it.
