Everybody obsessing over five-star rankings and composite scores needs to pump the brakes and look at what actually wins in this conference. The ESPN breakdown of every 2027 five-star is cool content, dont get me wrong, but the real finds are the two-star and unranked JUCO sleepers that nobody is talking about. We have a history of pulling legiitmate contributors out of the junior college ranks that nobody else wanted, guys who came in with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove. The 247 composite is a popularity contest for high school seniors, NOT a measure of who can actually play ball at this level. I remember watching a JUCO transfer walk into spring ball and immediately take reps away from four-star guys who had been on campus for two years. The work ethic is different, the hunger is different, and the physical maturity is already there. We are sitting at number nine in the 2027 class rankings and everybody is panicking like the sky is falling, but I guarantee you there is a three-star sleeper out there right now who will outplay half the guys in the top 100. The coaching staff knows this, they are watching the same tape I am, and they understand that the portal and JUCO pipeline are the equalizers in this new NIL era. Oregon can stack all the five-stars they want, but if we find one diamond in the rough who actually wants to be here, that is worth more than any crystal ball prediction. Watch the spring game film carefully, the kid nobody is talking about might be the one who ends up starting in September imo.
