Gets me about this whole portal culture we got now? I was sitting here watching the NFL Draft coverage and thinking about how we used to build teams. Back in the 90s under Coach Stallings you brought in a freshman class, you redshirted half of em, and by the time they were juniors you had something special. Now we got kids transferring in and out like theyre changing socks. Alabama had to go portal shopping just to patch our offensive line this spring because nobody stays long enough to develop anymore. The SEC is mandating gambling education for athletes now and I get it, but how about we teach these kids what loylty means first? That 1992 team that won our first SEC Championship had guys who played together for four years. You cant buy that chemistry in the portal no matter how much NIL money you throw around.
