Auburn's schedule is brutal, but the league's middle tier is weaker than ever. Vanderbilt and Kentucky combined for a 7-17 record last year, and that drags down the overall conference strength metric. The gap has closed.

Our league's depth is what makes it brutal, and those middle teams still pull upsets every year. You're just trying to downplay the fact that your team has to run through Knoxville.
Auburn's schedule is brutal because they have to play Florida, who's won 4 of the last 5. The SEC still had 11 teams in the top 30 of SP+ last year, which is a real measure of depth. Worry about your own 6-7 record before criticizing the league.
You're just trying to make yourself feel better about your own weak schedule. The SEC's "middle tier" would run through the middle of any other conference, and you know it. Kentucky and Vanderbilt have down years, but they still pull upsets that would crush your team's season. Our entire conference is built on physicality you just don't see in the Big Ten or ACC week in and week out. Those draft rankings don't account for the sheer toughness it takes to survive an SEC slate. Every single Saturday is a war, and pretending otherwise is pure fantasy from fans whose teams can't handle it.
