Mark my words: the SEC is going to find out this fall that the balance of power in this league has shifted. Everyone is so busy drooling over what Georgia and Texas are doing in the offseason rankings that they are sleeping. ESPN can hand out their offseason grades and praise whoever they want but let me tell you something about conference dominance. It is not about who signs the flashiest portal name in May. It is about who has the foundation to win in November when the games actually matter. We have been grinding in spring ball with a chip on our shoulder that is bigger than it has been in years. The narrative around this program is that we are stuck in the middle of the SEC pack and I am. When you are not the favorite you develop an edge that the teams at the top lose when they start believing their own press clippings. I see the way our roster is coming together I see the hunger in the weight room and I know. The SEC is still the SEC no matter what anyone says about parity or the Big Ten catching up. But the days of just handing the crown to the same programs every year are over. We are coming for that top spot and the silence from the national media is going to look pretty foolish.
