Three portal losses in one week and I am supposed to believe this program is building something. Back when Barry Alvarez was here you committed to Wisconsin because you wanted to run the ball behind a fullback and punish people for four quarters. Now these kids show up for spring practice, lose a position battle, and they are gone before the summer dead period even starts. I watched the 1994 Rose Bowl team lose maybe two guys total to transfer in four years. We built that offensive line by having kids redshirt and eat in the cafeteria together for two seasons before they ever saw the field. This new model where you patch holes with portal kids every winter is not building a culture, it is renting a roster. And we wonder why we cannot find consistency against teams like Notre Dame when half the two deep has been together for six months.
