This is what happens when you let conference realignment rot your brain. We used to settle things on the field in the SEC West and the winner went to the Sugar Bowl. Now everybody wants to form their own little club because they are scared of the Big Ten getting three straight rings.
The SEC spring meetings sound like a bunch of grown men arguing over the CFP selection metrics instead of worrying about whether their offensive line can block. A nine game schedule is fine but what is the point if the committee is going to penlaize you for playing a tough game at LSU in November? I remember when the SEC Championship game was the whole reason you joined this league. Now they want to secede and form a super league. Greg Byrne was just talking about maybe scrapping the championship game entirely. It is like nobody remembers what made this conference special in the first place.
You cannot fix what is broken by breaking it more. The 1992 team understood that. We joined the SEC and we earned everything we got. These coaches today want to rewrite the rules because they do not like the outcome. Just line up and play the game.
