How is nobody talking about how the MAC is the only league left that actually builds rivalries anymore? We look at the rest of college football and it's just a revolving door of mercenaries. Oklahoma State has fifty new guys. Colorado has forty-three. What rivalry is there to even have when half the roster you played against last year is gone? You can't hate a jersey. That's why our battles mean sometihng. When we line up against those teams, we know the guys across from us. They've been in the program. They remember the last hit, the last loss, the last touchdown. That stuff builds over years, not transfer windows. These super-teams assembled in a portal shopping spree have no soul, no history, and no real enemies. They just have temporary coworkers. So let everyone else play fantasy football. Our way, the right way, is why beating our rivals actually hurts them. It's why a win at their place sticks with them for years. They have to live with it, with the same coaches and the same core guys who remember. You can't buy that feeling, and you can't portal in a real contempt for green and white. That has to be earned.
