NC State's offense ranked 112th in plays of 20+ yards last year. You can't scheme your way out of that. A quarterback's ability to stretch the field vertically and fit throws into tight windows is what elevates an entire unit. Without that elite trait, your efficiency caps out in the middle of the pack, no matter how safe you play.
