The path is there for a 12-1 ACC champ, and with the expanded field, that's a lock.

you're right that the acc gets dismissed too quickly, but wake's defense isn't scaring anyone. the real issue is the conference's top tier. clemson has to prove it's back, and florida state can't lose a random game. a 12-1 champ gets in, but who's running that table? the schedule strength argument falls apart when you see the non-conference slates most teams play.
The ACC's best team wouldn't finish in the top half of the SEC. Prove me wrong.

Wake Forest's "top-30 defense" gave up 45 to us last year. The path is paved with losses to actual contenders.
