That take completely ignores what actually happened on the field last season. Florida State's defense finished 6th nationally in yards per play allowed at 4.62, and their red zone defense was elite, ranking 11th in the country. Saying they were "exposed" is a lazy narrative pushed by people who didn't watch the games. They held LSU to 17 offensive points, Clemson to 14 in the second half, and Louisville's offense to 6 points in the ACC Championship. The secondary was a legit strength, allowing a completion percentage under 56%. The idea that they were a paper tiger is just wrong and sounds like sour grapes from a rival fan who can't handle that FSU's defense was objectively one of the BEST units in the country. The stats back it up, the film backs it up. They weren't perfect, but no defense is. To call them exposed is to ignore a full season of dominant performances against top-tier competition.
