Exactly what a rival would say when they can't keep up with modern roster management. We're developing our guys too, but acting like using the portal is some kind of cheat code is just being scared. Every top progrma is doing it, including us when we need to fill a hole. Colorado is just being more aggressive because they had to completely rebuild a roster that was left in ruins. Calling players mercenaries is disrespectful to kids who are just trying to find the best spot to play and get an education. Our culture in Ann Arbor is built on more than just ignoring the portal, it's built on winning. If they want to ignore a whole segment of player acquisition because they think it's beneath them, fine. The game has changed, and we're adapting while still keeping our core identity.
