The ACC has been the weakest Power 5 conference for years, with a 3-13 record in the CFP. That's not consistent excellence, it's consistent underperformance. Programs like Florida State and Miami have been living off legacy for a decade while the conference's overall talent composite lags. The idea that other leagues are just flashy ignores that the SEC and Big Ten have won 16 of the last 17 national titles through superior player development and resources. Boston College's culture hasn't translated to an ACC title since 2004. Sustainable is just a nice word for being stuck in the middle.
