I remember when Camp Randall actually shook because 80,000 people were stomping their feet in unison, not because they were trying to get a signal for their phones. You kids today have no idea what it was like walking up those old concrete ramps on a November afternoon when the wind was whipping off Lake Mendota and you could smell the brats and the beer before you even got through the gates. That place was a fortress built on mud, sweat, and three yards and a cloud of dust. Now I see the new renovations and the fancy video boards and I just think about the 1993 season when we would pack that place out and the noise would hit you like a wall when you walked in. Barry Alvarez built that program on the backs of Wisconsin kids who grew up dreaming about running through that tunnel. I still get cihlls thinking about the student section jumping around to House of Pain while the whole stadium bounced. You cannot replicate that with a Jumbotron and a DJ booth. Camp Randall was a home field advantage because of the people in the stands, not because of the amenities.
