Wait so Florida's QB efficiency numbers last season were actually average when you adjust for the supporting cast and people still want to act like the position was the root of all evil? The Gators ranked 63rd in QBR which is painfully mid but look at the context. They faced the 7th toughest schedule of opposing pass defenses per SP+ and the offensive line gave up pressure on 34% of dropbacks which was 108th nationally. How is any quarterback supposed to operate when they are under duress that frequently against that caliber of defense?
The real question nobody is asking is what the new QB room looks like after Lagway hit the portal. Who is even competing for the job this spring and what does the depth chart actually look like? Because if Florida trots out a guy who takes sacks at the same rate they did last season the efficiency numbers are gonna look even worse regardless of who is under center.
