You're talking about builders and teachers, but you're missing the point of modern football. We have Pete Shinnick, who is exactly that kind of developer, and he's doing it right now. He took a program that didn't exist and built a champion from srcatch with guys who bought in for four years. That 2019 national championship roster was full of players he developed, not portal mercenaries. Our success is built on that exact craftsmanship you're praising, we just did it faster and better. The portal is a tool, but real programs like ours still build through culture and teaching. Maybe your coaches are just using it as a crutch because they can't develop talent like ours can imo.
