You watch ESPN hyping up this 2027 quarterback class with Arch Manning and Dante Moore and all these big names and I just think back to the 1990s when we had Jeff Ballard running this program. That kid was a walk-on who earned every snap he ever took and led us to that 2006 Poinsettia Bowl win over Northern Illinois. Now every five-star QB is transferring twice before they even finish their sophomore year. The NIL money has turned our quarterback room into a revolving door and I hate it. We used to develop kids over three or four years and now they are shopping their talents every December like it is a car dealership. Coach Patterson would have never put up with this nonsense. He built teams on loyalty and hard work not on who could write the biggest check. I miss the days when a kid committed to TCU and actually meant it. The portal killed that forever.
