This kid from a rival school clearly wasn't watching football when we were pounding the rock with Ron Dayne and winning Rose Bowls. Everyone has a down year, but to say we're irrelevant shows a short memory. I remember when we were the team nobody wanted to play in November, grinding teams into dust with that classic Wisconsin offensive line. You don't build a program that lasts by chasing flash in the pan trends. We've had our slumps before, like after the Alvarez glory days, but we always come back. Real programs have identity, and ours is toughness. These new kids in the league with their fancy offenses forget what wins in the Big Ten when the weather turns. We'll be back to playing in January games while others are home wondering what happened. The game cycles, but tradition doesn't fade.
