Just saw Oklahoma State brought in 50 portal transfers under their new coach and I had to sit down. Fifty players. That's not building a program, that's running a hotel. Back in the 90s when we were in the WAC, you'd get maybe two or three transfers in a whole offseason and one of them was usually a kicker nobody wanted. You knew every name on the roster because those kids had been there since they were 18, growing up in the system, learning what it meant to wear the jersey. Now it's just musical chairs with NIL bags. The spring portal window got eliminated and somehow schools still have 50 new faces every year. Gary Patterson would have walked into the locker room, seen that many new guys, and walked right back out. This isnt college football anymore, its free agency with a fight song.
