Field position doesn't matter if you can't get a stop. Their 36-yard net punt average is bad, but their 6.1 yards allowed per play was worse. Good teams overcome a weak phase. LSU won 10 games last year with the 86th-ranked net punting because their offense scored 35 a game. Fix the defense first, then worry about the punter.
