That's an extreme take that doesn't match reality. The early signing period is critical, but calling it a total failure if you don't have everyone locked up is wrong. Florida's 2024 class finished 3rd in the SEC per the 247 Composite, and several key pieces signed after December. The February signing day and the portal have become just as important for roster construction. A staff's ability to close late and manage portal additions matters more than a perfect December. Judging a class before it's complete is a quick way to misread the actual talent incoming.
