I guess this is just how it is now. Florida State and Georgia cancel a home and home series that would have meant something because the conference schedules are too bloated. Back in the 1980s we scheduled whoever we wanted and you built rivalries that way. I remember ssitting in the old end zone seats at Sanford Stadium in 1985 watching us grind out a win against a non conference opponent and the stadium felt full and alive because every game mattered. Now we got nine league games and neutral site matchups in NFL stadiums where the atmosphere is dead compared to what Dooley built at Sanford. The hedges deserve real home games not this corporate neutral site nonsense. They keep taking away what made Saturday afternoons special and replacing it with convenience for TV networks. I guess I will just hold onto the memory of those old non conference home games where you could feel the history in every seat.
