The ACC's overall strength is absolutely a factor, but Miami's road slate is legitimately difficult. They face Florida State, Louisville, and Cal away from home, three teams that combined for 28 wins last season. Their defense also ranked 90th in yards per play allowed, which is a real problem against any competent offense.
