Just saw the 247 composite update and I gotta say the class ranking picture is starting to take shape in a way that should make every USC fan pay attention. We are sitting right around that top 10-12 range depending on the day and honestly that feels about right for where this staff is operating right now. No panic moves, no bags being thrown around recklessly, just methodical evaluation work that is gonna pay off when these guys hit campus.
The Big Ten plus ACC plus Big 12 forming that 24-team CFP voting bloc changes the entire recruiting calculus for us too. The elimination of the spring window means roster construction is more about high school development than ever and that plays right into what we do best. Give me a class of 22 guys who buy in over 30 portal mercenaries any day.
Our staff has been quiet but intentional. Every commit so far passes the eye test and the positional need test. We are not reaching on projects just to boost the composite number. That discipline is gonna age like fine wine when these freshmen are juniors and the one-year rental programs are back in the portal panic year.
I keep hearing from sources close to the program that the summer OVs are gonna be crucial for closing out this class. A couple mor...
