Just saw the updated 247 composite for 2026 and I need to talk about this 5-star tracker situation. We are sitting there watching Oregon stack five 5-stars while we keep hearing "sources close to the prgoram say we are right there" on a couple of the big ones. The crystal ball projections have been shifting toward us on one particular defensive back from the Southeast but I have seen this movie before where the bagman comes in late and flips everything. What kills me is the staff has been putting in work on the OVs and the relationships are solid but the NIL gap in this conference is real. Oregon is operating on a different financial level right now and our guys are trying to sell the program and the development track. The 247 composite does not lie about where we stand and we need to close on at least two of these 5-star targets before the dead period ends or we are gonna be playing catch-up again in the 247 rankings.
