You see the SEC Now crew breaking down the 2026 schedule on ESPN and I just cannot get past the fact that we are playing Texas and Oklahoma every year now like it is normal. I remember when the 1992 SEC Championship Game felt like the biggest thing in the world because it was the first time we actually settled it on the field instead of the polls. Now we have got a 16-team league with no divisions and we lost the annual game against Tennessee for a couple years there. The whole thing feels like a TV contract dressed up as a conference. I miss when the Third Saturday in October meant something because it was the only time we saw those guys all year. Now it is just another game on the schedule.
