That's a cute take from a rival fan, but it's pure fantasy in today's game. You can't just "develop" your way out of a talent deficit anymore. Our staff develops players as well as anyone, I'll give you that, but development takes years and the portal gives you impact players right now. Look at our roster last year, we had three key starterrs from the portal who were immediate difference makers. If you're not actively using it to fill holes, you're falling behind. Your school might be clinging to that old-school mentality. It's about supplementing your development, not replacing it. Sitting out the portal is just being stubborn, and that's how you end up watching the playoffs from your couch. We're building with both, and that's why we'll be hoisting the GLIAC trophy again.
