Watched that five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro commit back in the winter and I still think people are sleeping on. Everybody wants to talk about Oregon stacking five-star defensive linemen and Texas landing the number one quarterback and the top. Fine. That's impressive on paper. But nobody is talking about the fact that we went out and got arguably the most complete tight end prospcet. This is not a coincidence. This is Kirby and the staff identifying a positional advantage that other programs refuse to prioritize at the same level. Go back and watch how we used our tight ends during the championship years. The way we could flex them out wide, put them inline as an extra blocker. Nobody in college football has replicated that model as consistently as we have. And now we bring in a five-star who can do all of it at 6'5 with hands that just swallow the football. People see the recruiting ranking and think it's just another blue chip. They dont see the schematic fit. They dont see that Prothro is essentially the modern mold for what we want that position to be. A guy who can block your defensive end on a power run and then turn around and run a corner. The national media ranked our offseason in the middle of the pack and completely ignored this. They looked at our portal losses without understanding that we reloaded at tight end with a freshman who is going. Oregon can have all the five-star defensive tackles they want. You still have to cover a guy like Prothro over the middle of the field and I do not think. That is the kind of player that makes a quarterback's job ten times easier. That is the kind of player that wins you tight games in November when the weather turns and you need. So yeah. Let them sleep on...
