Go ahead and tell me that buillding an offensive line through the transfer portal is the new way of doing things. I remember when we built offensive lines the old way you took a kid out of high school you sat him behind a senior for two years and by the time he was a junior he knew the snap count before the center did. Now we are just plugging in mercenaries from other programs hoping they can learn the playbook by August. Coach Bryant would have laughed at the idea of building a line through the portal. He wanted kids who bled for the state of Alabama not kids who were shopping for the highest NIL bidder. We better hope these new transfers gel fast because chemistry on the offensive line is not something you can buy in a winter window.
