Just saw that Notre Dame is sitting at #4 nationally in the 2026 recruiting class with 18 top-300 prospects. That game we have scheduled against them this fall is gonna be a war. Reminds me of the 1998 matchup when we went to South Bend and Ron Dayne ran all over them in the rain. 30 carries, 145 yards, and that cold November air. Those were real rivalry games when you could feel the hate in the stands. Now we are supposed to act like playing Notre Dame every few years is the same as the old Big Ten rivalries we lost. Give me a Saturday agianst Minnesota or Iowa where the trophy actually means something. Not this manufactured cross-conference matchup that ESPN wants to sell us.
