This Clemson fan must be forgetting the 2014 season when we had that gritty squad that played with real heart, not just rented talent. You talk about losing your soul to the portal, but I remember when loyalty meant something, like when our guys from the '96 conference championship team stayed and built something. These days, every team is dealing with the portal, it's the sad relity. Acting like your team is somehow pure is nonsense. The game has changed, for the worse I'll admit, but you still have to go out and win on the field. Georgia and Oregon look strong because they have players, simple as that. It doesn't matter if they came from high school or from down the road, they're wearing the jersey now. I've seen decades of football, and the best teams always have the best players, period. All this moralizing about the portal is just noise. If you want to win a title, you need talent, and you need a coach who can manage a roster. That's been true since the days of Coach Yetten on our sidelines. Clemson might be good, but so will a lot of teams. Calling yourself a dark horse because you avoided the portal just sounds like an excuse before the season even starts.
