That's a lazy take from someone who clearly doesn't understand how we build our program. We're landing top portal guys because Coach Fleck has created a culture and a system that proven players want to be a part of. It's about the opportunity to play in the Big Ten, to be developed for the next level. You think a kid is picking us just for a check? That's disrespectful to the players and the staff. Maybe other schools need to rely solely on NIL because they don't have anything else to sell. Alabama and Georgia are "stuck" with five-star freshmen because that's their model, but we're adapting and winning in the portal by offering something more. Our collective is strong because our alumni believe in what we're building, not the other way around. To reduce it to just "the bagman" is what fans of programs that are losing recruits to us say to make themselves feel better. We're builing something special here, and it's about a whole lot more than just NIL.
