Just saw ESPN's portal class rankings and I see we are sitting there in the top 25 and I just shake my head. Back in the 90s you built a program through high school recruiting and developing your own guys, not shopping for mercenaries every offseason. Coach Stallings would have laughed at the idea of rebuilding your offensive line through the transfer portal. I know the game changed but it just feels like we are renting players instead of building something that lasts.
