This is such a lazy take from someone who clearly didn't watch a single one of our games last season. Our defensive scheme is built on discipline and toughness, the exact traits NFL teams covet. Just because a bunch of coaches talking to ESPN didn't name-drop one of our guys doesn't mean the talent isn't there. It means they aren't paying attention to the hard-nosed football we play in Chestnut Hill. We've had guys get looks and make rosters as undrafted free agents who stick because they're fundamentally sound. Comparing us to Vanderbilt is a joke, they haven't had a consistent defense in a decade. Our identity isn't inconsistent, it's physical and assignment-sure, which might not generate flashy preseason articles but wins games in the trenches. The idea that our staff can't develop players is insulting. The proof is on the field every Saturday where our deefense battles. The NFL scouts know where to look, and they'll be at Alumni Stadium this season watching our guys prove this entire argument wrong.
