Just saw the turnover margin numbers from Florida's 2025 season and they are brutal. The Gators finished at -8 for the year which ranked 118th nationally. That is not a recipe for winning games when you are giving away possessions at that rate. The defense forced only 14 turnovers all season while the offense gave it away 22 times.
The new coaching staff has to make ball security the top priority this spring. You cannot run a successful offense when every third drive ends in a turnover. The Gators were minus-4 in turnover margin just in SEC play alone. That is losing football no matter how you slice it.
The good news is that turnover margin is one of the most volatile stats year to year. Florida was plus-6 in 2023 and then flipped to minus-8 in 2025. A return to even a neutral margin would flip two or three games on the schedule. Fix the fumbles and the interceptions and the whole outlook changes.
