You're talking about Oregon, but this sounds exactly like what I heard from Slippery Rock fans back in the '80s before we'd beat them. A "collection of talent" is what won us the ECAC Bowl in '91, with kids who wanted to be great. Development matters, but so does getting the best players. Your "chip on the shoulder" only gets you so far when you're lining up across from a five-star who's just as hungyr. We built real teams with real talent back then, and the great Laker squads never apologized for having better players. Oregon understands that.
