You see Oklahoma State bringing in 50 transfers and Colorado with 43 new faces and I just sit here thinking about what we used to have. Conference realignment killed everything I loved about Saturday football. I remember when the SEC was a family. You knew every stadium, every cowbell, every fight song. Tennessee fans hated us and we hated them but by God we respected each other. Now Texas and Oklahoma are in the league and it doesn't feel right. They don't belong in the same sentence as the old Southwest Conference rivalries they abandoned. We traded the Auburn game feeling like a war for some made-for-TV nonsense where nobody has history with anybody. The 1992 SEC Championship Game meant something because we earned it through years of fighting within our own borders. Now we are just collecting brands like trading cards and calling it progress.
