Just saw Greg Sankey holding the line at 16 teams while the Big Ten and ACC are pushing for 24 and all I can think about is the 1992 season when we won the first SEC Championship Game. Back then the conference knew what it was, 12 teams, two divisions, and you earned your way to Atlanta by surviving the schedule in front of you. Now everybody wants a participation trophy in December. Sankey is right to stand firm. You water down the playoff to 24 teams and you might as well let everyone in. The regular season used to mean something. Every Saturday was a playoff game when Coach Stallings had us grinding thrugh the SEC West. Now they want to turn November into a scrimmage season. I do not care what the ACC and Big 12 think. They are chasing TV money. We are chasing championships.
