Just saw the ESPN Future Power Rankings through 2027 and Florida sitting somewhere in the middle of the SEC pack. That ranking is a direct reflection of the coaching hire evaluation right now. The Gators have a top 12 recruiting class for 2027 on paper but that means nothing if the staff cannot develop and retain. Florida finished 112th in turnover margin last season and special teams were a disaster. Those are coaching issues not talent issues.
The real question is whether this staff can fix the fundamental problems. Recruiting rankings get you in the door but the Gators converted just 87th in red zone touchdown percentage last year. That is scheme and execution. The portal losses including the QB leaving sting but the evaluation of this staff comes down to whether they can coach up the guys who stayed. The Future Power Rankings will look very different in two years if the development catches up to the recruiting.
